This recently completed project is a gorgeous home addition to a Californian bungalow that aimed to recreate the spirit of a local cafe rather than a privately owned home.
Designed by MAKE Architecture, the addition is characterized by a boxy timber screen that appears illuminated from the outside and offers a private view into the lush greenery that surrounds the property from within. Another main focus of the project was creating garage space, which is constructed out of concrete like the interior home space.
Located in Melbourne, the project was aimed to be a place to host guests, friends and family and to serve as a meeting place for the community at large. The playful space is sure to provide an eclectic mix of private and social gatherings.
