Nostalgic Home Showroom Pop-Ups

The Design of the Byredo Pop-Up is Intentionally Eerie & Familiar

The Miami design District is now home to a new Byredo pop-up, which is using design to elicit a sense of nostalgia from its visitors.

The gorgeous and temporary space was constructed using exposed wooden beams, to create a space that feels open and airy, while still offering the organization of different rooms. When asked about the use of this material, the designer responsible stated that "‘wood is honest, its human, in a way that metal – another material we use quite often – isn’t."

To further that humanistic feel, the space was infused with home-like design cues, such as spiral staircases, the odd hanging painting, and light-filled windows. The pop-up space demonstrates the strong relationship between retail and appealing to a consumer's emotions.
