An interesting bubble installation debuted at this year's Venice Architecture Biennale. Curated by Eero Lundén and Juulia Kauste, the exhibition consists of sizable inflatable blobs that react with deflating and inflating actions to changes in atmospheric pressure. With regard to their shape, the four blobs are reminiscent of cells and the dynamic qualities of the bubble installation further suggests a living organism.
As it forms a direct relationship to atmospheric changes—in light of carbon-dioxide level shifts, temperature and humidity—the Nordic Pavilion bubble installation is meant to motivate a conversation about the relationship of man-made products and natural formations.
As "they breathe differently in different conditions," the inflatables are meant to mimic immediate changes in the environment, as well as bring about an inspirational kick for the architecture and design industries.
