Showing us the beauty in something as horrific as the BP oil spill is no easy task but Daniel Beltrá's aerial images are mesmerizing and striking enough to attract attention to such an ugly issue.
Getting people to want to look towards the issue at hand instead of looking away from it, the Seattle-based photographer has released his photographs of the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Having documented the BP oil spill for Greenpeace, Beltrá's 'Spill' series has images so stunning that they look like paintings documenting environmental devastation.
Although the Deepwater Horizon disaster took place four years ago, the images are still very relevant today because we are still reeling from its after effects, and there's also the probability of something as devastating happening again.
