Featured at Milan Design Week 2013, design firm Raw-Edges revealed a book display that suspends books on threads of string called 'Bloom.' Designed by Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay, the piece was inspired by the weaving loom. The shelf contains red strings with sliding stoppers.
When a book is placed on one of the stoppers, the book suddenly looks like it's floating. In it's nude bookless form, 'Bloom' looks like a Japanese candlestick chart with the stoppers forming a mesmerizing pattern.
The black stoppers on each group of strings can be adjusted to any height in order to make the bookshelf uniquely yours. The versatility of this shelf means that you can make a piece of art, a dynamic organization system or both.
