There are several apps and wearable devices on the market that are designed to work as portable blood pressure gauges, but Lumio Labs' 'AccuRate' integrates this technology for health right into the case for an iPhone.
In its research for the product, Lumio Labs found that one in three American adults have high blood pressure and imagined creating the most convenient mobile monitoring solution possible to track early warning signs for hypertension. The AccuRate works without the use of cuffs and remarkably, only uses sensors and Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) technology to collect data. Once recorded, this information is synched to an accompanying app for safe storage and long-term use.
While ultimately serving as a health tool, as a phone case, the AccuRate is still aesthetically pleasing enough for daily use.
