'Blind Passengers' are Screens to Block the Sun with a Classical Art Twist

Blind Passengers by German designers Julian Appelius and Karen Olze are a neat way to combine function and fashion. Blind Passengers are polyester car window covers to keep the blaring sun out of the eyes in the back seat, and feature superimposed images of some of the most famous faces in art history.

The blinds feature the face of Simonetta Vespucci, Botticelli’s muse and ‘The Girl with the Pearl Earring’ by Johannes Vermeer. The bust of Nefertiti, Arcimboldos’ ‘Spring’ and two cherubs by Raffael are also among the Blind Passengers.

Blind Passengers by Julian Appelius and Karen Olze are an awesome way to provide shade in the car while showcasing a famous work of art. The shades are sold at the Deutsche Guggenheim Museum in Berlin.
