Given that a lamp can be simply described as a light-emitting object, the designer of the Bionic Floor Lamp saw the opportunity to exercise a great deal of creativity in her piece. Inspired by springtime with the burgeoning of new buds and foliage, Ol'ha Shevchenko developed an elegant abstract sculpture to beautifully represent such natural forms.
The overall shape of the freestanding fixture takes a gentle S-curve, similar to that of a curling leaf. A skeletal structure is composed of petal-like cutouts that allow the light source inside to shine outwards. During the day, the Bionic Floor Lamp appears as a soft and elegant sculpture; meanwhile, after dark, the artistic illuminator really reveals the intricate pattern of its organic perforations.
