The Pingbell is a bell and accompanying smartphone app that allows bike riders to find their rides quickly in crowded spaces. The system works by using a Bluetooth connection from the bell that the smartphone is able to track via app. The app can then instruct the bell to ring so that the rider finds their bicycle with minimal search time.
The concept for Pingbell was designed during 24h FROLIC -- when the studio prototypes to solve a challenge in 24 hours -- when the firm was looking to explore how someone could find their bicycle quickly after locking it up in a crowded area. This would be an ideal system for any city-goer to own if they often travel by bicycle and store it in public areas.
