Social Enterprise Software

Benetech is a U.S.-Based Nonprofit Technology Company

I came across Benetech through a blog by its CEO, Jim Fruchterman, which explored his own chapter in the book edited by Ron Schultz, Creating Good Work: The World’s Leading Social Entrepreneurs Show How to Build a Healthy Economy. It's a nonprofit technology company that aims to use software as a way to create positive social change around the world through its various enterprise projects such as Bookshare.org , Martus.org and SocialCoding4Good.org.

Benetech is similar to many pioneers in the social entrepreneurship field in that it was founded about twenty years ago, thus, was using different language or perhaps a vocabulary that didn't exist yet when it comes to the intersection between profit and social and environmental goals.
