Japanese designer Keiji Ashizawa works in collaboration with Danish design studio Norm Architects to showcase their latest work -- the Bellustar Tokyo Hotel. It is meant to channel a sense of nature as it rests in the midst of the busy Shinjuku district.
It is raised 200 meters above the ground in the city's Kabukicho tower, spreading from the 45th to the 47th floor. Ashizawa tells Dezeen that "I would say that it is the tallest hotel I have worked on, a quiet hotel in the sky of Shinjuku. Since there are no nearby buildings at this elevation, there was no need to be concerned about privacy, and it feels surreal that the views from all the windows are almost always spectacular."
