Homey Honey Branding

Ehn's Bee Local Packaging Highlights the Product's Origins

The honey company Bee Local has made a name for itself creating "hyper-local urban honey." This intriguing honey is produced by beehives in a variety of neighborhoods in a number of different cities. Each hive produces a nectar that is unique to its place of origin in taste, texture and color. Recently, this artisan company acquired a fresh new look for its line of honeys. The fresh getup was created by Jeremy Ehn of Ideaville, who chose to highlight Bee Local's unique method of production in the packaging's design.

To emphasize the tantalizing attributes of each individual batch of honey, Ehn chose simplified labels and clear jars in order to advertise the different hues of honey available. The label carries a space for the manufacturer to designate which neighbourhood the honey in the jar hails from. Each jar of Bee Local honey is hand labeled, hand embossed and numbered to give the brand a fresh from the hive kind of feeling.

Simple, personal and affecting, this sweet honey packaging preaches the pros of buying local.
