This was a challenge because in Japanese culture, straying from the traditional black and white color palette of a funerary procession is considered taboo and can be viewed as disrespectful. Using delicately pressed flowers in a brilliantly colorful display arranged as an anatomically correct skeletal figure served to balance respect for the departed while demonstrating that this funeral home offers more than the average black and white services.
