With unique blends that are at the forefront of whisky innovation globally, Bearface is a Canadian whisky company determined to bring Canada back into the spotlight by challenging the norms of a very traditional whisky category. The brand recently announced the launch of a new Wilderness Series that features a limited-edition range of innovative variants inspired by the Canadian wilderness. Umami Matsutake Release is the first in the line.
As its name suggests, the new whisky will feature Umami Matsutake mushroom -- a rare, hard-to-find mushroom across the globe, that is an abundant species in BC. The mushroom is only harvested once a year (as it only grows after a wildfire event). The new Bearface whisky is infused with Matsutake mushrooms to produce a complex, layered whisky with cinnamon, nutmeg, and an earthy umami flavor.
The Umami Matsutake Release will hit the market this March 2022.
