Design student Lorraine Nicoletta created man-centric packaging for the fictional outdoor cooking brand BBQ IT. Nicoletta's bare bones approach avoids complicated flourish and gets to the meat and potatoes of each item in the kit with minimal fuss. The kit accommodates what is commonly considered a male approach to cookery: it's simple, straightforward and free of complicated French words.
The kit comes complete with two kinds of sauces, a spice rub, and, more importantly, a set of coasters perfect for frosty pints. Drawing from a ranch-style aesthetic, Lorraine Nicoletta created labels that look as though they've been branded on. The typography is front and centre in this packaging design, and the words used are all under five letters. The sauces and rubs are direct, proudly announcing which boasts a sweet flavor and which is more savory.
Helping to take the guest work out of manly grilling, the BBQ IT packaging avoids complexity in favor of man-pleasing aesthetics.
