'Battersea Dogs & Cats Home' Has a New Logo Design from Pentagram

English pet shelter 'Battersea Dogs & Cats Home' recently received a redesigned brand identity from creative firm Pentagram, and the studio opted for a series of abstract watercolor splotches adorned with cheeky hand-drawn whiskers and ears. The blue dots are each completely unique brushstrokes, which is representative of the unique backstory behind each of the rescue animals in the shelter.

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home was founded in London in 1860, but as times have changed the shelter has of course changed in kind. One of the challenges for Pentagram was to keep the core purpose of the shelter -- its animals -- apparent. The firm thus added the tagline 'Here for Every Dog and Cat' to the branding, as most people tend to cut off the majority of the shelter's name and simply refer to it as "Battersea".
