Undulating Wood Bakeries

Baker D. Chirico Interior Features Plywood Walls & Ceiling

Designed by March Studio, the interior of the Baker D. Chirico store in Carlton, Australia, offers an incredible visual experience. The walls and ceilings are made of undulating and waving pieces of plywood, which, together with the Baker D. Chirico's offerings -- mainly bread and pastries -- provides a fresh and natural-looking ambiance.

The designers created a very simple interior concept, with the primary aim to display the bakery's products and provide a place for bread and other baked goods to cool, "naked of packaging and ready to be portioned and sold," describes The Retail Design Blog. The curving and undulating shelves provide an interesting way to do so, and the designers have even designed them to be re-arranged should this be necessary.
