After a nearly 10-year hiatus, KFC is bringing back its iconic KFC Double Down Sandwich and introducing a new Bacon & Cheese Chicken Sandwich.
KFC fans will likely remember the KFC Double Down Sandwich for swapping buns for two KFC's Extra Crispy, 100% white meat chicken filets. Now the iconic sandwich is back as of Monday, March 6th, for just four weeks only.
For those who are weary of a bun-less fried chicken sandwich, the brand is also introducing the new premium Bacon & Cheese Chicken Sandwich. This sandwich consists of a double-breaded, Extra Crispy chicken filet, a slice of cheese, two pieces of hickory-smoked bacon, the Colonel's real mayo, and pickles, all served on a freshly-toasted brioche bun. As Nick Chavez, CMO of KFC U.S., explains, "We realize leaving the buns behind isn't for everyone, so our newest Bacon & Cheese Chicken Sandwich was designed for those who are looking for the craveable taste of bacon and cheese added to the chicken sandwich perfected by the fried chicken experts."
