These Decorative Baby Booties are Made Out of Breast Milk

Created by British designers Nick Gant and Tanya Dean, these inch-long baby booties were made entirely out of breast milk.

The milk was donated by mothers for the project and the two designers used a special process by which they used extracted proteins in order to create these miniature sculptures. Originating from a liquid, the end product has a hard, plastic-like feeling with a woven texture that makes them look like hand-knit slippers that a grandmother might have made. This dainty design would be an intimate gift for an expectant mother and it could later be used as a precious family heirloom.

These baby booties show a divergence of designers using strange and unusual materials to get unique results in their projects.
