Self-Scanning Security Systems

Qylatron's Automated Security System Lets People Scan by Themselves

The Qylatron is an automated security system designed to reduce long lines at public venues.

The screening solution has people use a ticketing system to load their personal belongings into one of the Qylatron’s hexagonal containers. If water is an item that is not allowed at a specific venue, a person will go to retrieve their belongings and notice the door on the other side of the Qylatron has been lit up in purple. At this point, an attendant will be by to check the belongings more thoroughly.

The system is like a self-checkout at a grocery store, but for areas of heavy traffic where security checkpoints are necessary. The Qylatron has already been tested at a Rio de Janeiro airport and the compartments would need to be of a bigger size, but if this could help to reduce long lines, it could prove to be a useful system.
