I suppose if we ever encounter extraterrestrial beings, their mothership will look something like the Austrian pavilion pictured here. Designed by SPAN & Zeytinoglu, the building contains some of the most mind-boggling engineering feats I have seen in a long time. Extremely angled interiors and wave-like exteriors make the structure look like a living optical illusion.
The Austrian pavilion is one of many super-modern architectural pieces that will be seen at the expo starting this weekend. Of all the projects though, this one is certainly the most otherworldly.
