Famous Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani has received the prestigious French award, the Legion of Honor by French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
“It's an immense honor for me, and one that reflects very well on all the great people we have at Giorgio Armani,†the designer said of the honor.
Many of Armani's famous friends attended the ceremony including British actress Helen Mirren, Nathalie Rykiel, Lady Helen Taylor, Eugenia Silva and Carla and Silvia Fendi. The ceremony was held at the winter garden of the Elysee Palace in Paris. Singer Tina Turner serenaded all attendees with an impromptu version of her hit song, “Simply the Best.â€
