Dutch architecture firm MVRDV's new Rotterdam office was designed to resemble comfortable home spaces. Aptly named the 'MVRDV House', the multicolored office is sleek and simple in design but still incredibly vibrant. Each of the 130 rooms uses only one color throughout, creating a new monochromatic environment in each space.
Like any home, the MRDV House has areas to dine, relax and play. The rooms have the front wall made of full glass doors that the firm intentionally designed to give a visual effect of looking through a doll house. Each room has its own theme, some for professional meetings and others for informal matters. The main office is white monochromatic open concept space with high-ceilings and skylights to let natural light in.
It's a smart move for the architecture firm to build its home base in a creative, fun and modern way. It serves as a reminder to clients that MVRDV is an innovate company at the forefront of design.
