Shoebox condos are popping up everywhere around the world to accommodate the lack of space in many cities as well as the rising population; but the Aquaria Grande concept shows that creativity doesn’t have to be compromised when it comes to these residential buildings. The Aquaria Grande is comprised of two 37-story towers that are sculpturally beautiful. It is their balcony pools, however, that are the structures’ standout features.
Conceived by Hong Kong-based architecture and product designer James Law for real estate company Wadhwa Group, the Aquaria Grande would be built in Mumbai, India. The design of the buildings allow natural light to seep into over 200 apartments. It furthers its eco-conscious stance with energy-efficient glass facades to reduce energy consumption.
