Appleton Estate Hosts Musical Event to Explore Jamaican Jazz Influences

Renowned rum brand, Appleton Estate, recently announced the launch of four live-jazz experiences for consumers to enjoy. Thanks to the lack of rules regarding where or how rum is produced, the liquor has long been associated as a "free spirit," compared to other alcohols. This association, coupled with the brand's Jamaican roots, makes it the perfect rum to host a Jamaican jazz event.

The pop-ups will take place on August 7th, 15th, 20th, and 22nd and explores the Jamaican influence on contemporary British jazz. The event boasts notable jazz musicians including Ife Ogunjobi, Yazmin Lacey, Ms Maurice, Moses Boyd, and Vin Gordon -- an iconic Jamaican trombonist who played with Bob Marley.

The acts have been selected by DJ Gilles Peterson, who said: "There is no doubt that UK jazz is leading the genre worldwide right now and what Appleton Estate rum and I want to do with these sessions is to celebrate the evolution of nu-jazz and introduce a new audience to Jamaican jazz music."
