Ken Carbone recently began a project that requires him to create a different apple-based design each day. For many artists, it can be difficult to maintain the same level of creativity and artistic skill over time. Carbone keeps his creativity flowing by challenging himself to redesign the humble apple each day.
The series is called 'An Apple a Day' and the rule is that no two apples can be designed in a similar way. In order to create each apple-based design, Carbone relies on a number of different mediums, including watercolors, pastels and clay. To date, Carbone has created over 180 different apple designs. The longer the project progresses, the more he is challenged to come up with unique and innovative pieces.
The unusual project demonstrates that even everyday objects such as an apple can be elevated through art.
