'Memes' are pairs of app-connected glasses from eyewear maker Jin that will alert you when you're getting close to being fatigued. Sometimes it's easy to ignore or be oblivious to the signs your body is sending, but when you're too tired, the Jin Meme glasses will send you a smartphone notification advising you to rest your eyes.
The glasses look just like any other kind of spectacles, but these smart glasses are equipped with tiny metallic electrooculography (EOG) sensors in the bridge, nose pads and arms. Even with these additions, the glasses are light and only weigh about 36 grams.
The glasses are the first of their kind to use EOG sensors and with them, the Meme glasses are able to measure eye strain, calories burned and the number of steps taken. The glasses make use of a small lithium-ion battery, but to extend its eight hour life, Jin also sells a headband attachment that's fairly discreet.
