A crystal chip may revolutionize how we charge our phones. This new technology use has been harnessed by Anthony Mutua. The Anthony Mutua crystal chip generates energy from pressure as users walk or run with the crystal in their shoe. This creates electricity and, as Anthony Mutua commented, "once you have arrived where you were going you can now sit down and charge your mobile phone."
Using body energy to create electricity is not a new innovation, but being able to harness it for the use of a cell phone (and in such a small device) is pretty revolutionary.
Currently being funded by the National Council of Science and Technology (NCST) of Kenya, the project has made others hopeful. Ringing in at about $46 Kenyan dollars, and with a 2 and a half year warranty, the price and life-span look promising.
