Infinite Forest Sculptures

Anthony James Creates an Installation that Befits a Dystopian Future

There is something extremely eerie about British-born Anthony James' most recent art installation. By combining mirrors, birch wood, water and fluorescent lighting, he has put together a dystopian-esque, infinite forest.

Looking at Anthony James' work, it appears to me like he's commenting on the relationship between man and nature. By taking these once-lush trees and encasing them in a cold environment, they have become rather sterile and removed from nature.

According to Co. Design, Anthony James is actually presenting an image of 'idealized destruction.' Instead of permanently destroying all the trees around us for our own selfish gain, there are other ways to preserve nature. Whether or not Anthony James' suggestion is true is up to individual interpretation.
