Growing up reading Calvin and Hobbes, I would have given anything to see Hobbes as an animated tiger pouncing on the hapless Calvin.
Thanks to animator Adam Brown, my childhood dreams have come true. Since Calvin and Hobbes creator Bill Watterson was notoriously protective of his property and refused to license it out for merchandising, we've never been given the chance to see the adventures of this animated tiger and little boy. At least Watterson's attitude towards merchandising was very admirable and has protected the integrity of the strip over the years, allowing it to stand on its own as a comic strip. Thankfully, Brown didn't attempt to replicate the voice of Calvin, which is undoubtedly different for everyone who has ever read a Calvin and Hobbes strip. Brown created the 30 second short by using the original Watterson-illustrated panels as key frames.
