Angela Deane Reinvents Old Photos with a Few Adjustments

Angela Deane is an artist who likes to take ordinary photos, and add a little something extra. For her latest work, she's decided to paint ghost portraits over the bodies and faces of various people in old photographs. The result is comical and slightly eery at the same time.

According to the artist, after this transformation has taken place, "a private and specific experience becomes an open and shared one through the material addition of paint on photograph." Whatever her intention, the portraits definitely make one think about who these people are, or used to be, and incites contemplation about where they are now. This is a great example of how simple art can be, all you have to do sometimes is add a few ghosts!Photo Credits: designboom, angeladeane
