When thinking of a power station, the thought of turning it into a green structure does not normally cross people's minds, but Andy Sturgeon is changing this concept with his work on the Battersea power plant.
His design will consists of three gardens, all set on the rooftop and inspired by the three elements of water, fire and air. Many of these are shown in a symbolic manner. For example, for the last element, "the garden can only be accessed from a series of luxury apartments where cloud-like planting representative of air is set within vast dishes of shallow water," as stated on DesignBoom.
Taking a power plant and fitting it with a more eco-friendly design is sure to please locals in the area, who will soon be able to enjoy the buildings green fittings.Photo Credits: designboom, andysturgeon
