The NES is hailed as the greatest gaming console of all time by video game purists and there have been varying levels of recreations for the gaming deity. The Analogue Nt may be the true successor though as it will play the old games with a new twist.
Messing with what works can be a deadly thing, just ask the PS3 developers when they refused to add in backward compatibility when it came out.
