Floating 3D-Printed Lights

Alex Buckman Presents the LED Design Titled 'Canopy'

Alex Buckman has come up with a lighting design made from 3D printed material. The piece "explores the notions of how LED technology and 3D printing can create an adaptable and portable network to benefit the well-being of the user and provide an interactive space," as stated on DesignBoom.

What's interesting is how the light can be held up through a thin piece of material so that it almost looks as though it is floating in mid-air. A light like this could go well in someones bedroom, as it's different than most traditional designs on the market. The project was done as a part of Buckman's thesis in New Zealand, as he wanted to push the boundaries of industrial design and be able to offer something different.
