The Jumbo Hostel

If you’ve ever wanted to have a mile-high experience without leaving the airport, Oscar Diös’ Jumbo Hostel fits the bill. This hostel is made from a converted 747 formerly owned and operated by Transjet to fly Muslim pilgrims to Mecca.

Pending the completion of its renovations, Jumbo Hostel will be towed to its final destination at the entrance to Sweden’s Arlanda Airport. The 25-room hotel features three bunk beds in each room for a grand total of 85 beds. The hostel also features a café that offers breakfast, coffee, cookies and basic meals.

Jumbo Hostel also features luxury accommodations suitable for even discerning travelers. All rooms feature a flat screen TV and wireless broadband, and the plane’s cockpit has even been converted into a deluxe private suite with panoramic windows.
