Traditional designs for social housing tend to focus on cost rather than style and function, but this affordable housing concept strays from that standard.
Designed by 'White Arkitekter' this Denmark-based affordable housing project will be titled 'By the Woods' and uses nature to its full advantage. While most affordable housing tends to be made of concrete, is stark and often decrepit, this project will use sustainable materials to create a beautiful community. The project will consist of 155 houses that are made from wood and will appear as though they are fully immersed in the surrounding nature.
By evoking the sensation of "nature taking over," this affordable housing concept will change the way people view how social housing can and should be designed.
