An upcoming fashion documentary titled A Perfect 14 is taking aim at the one-size-fits-all attitude toward the representation of women's bodies. To be released in 2016, A Perfect 14 will be directed by Giovanna Morales Vargas and is to be distributed by BOND/360.
The poignant documentary will feature a window into the lives of three of the most popular plus-size models of the moment, Laura Wells, Elly Mayday and Kerosene Deluxe.
While the topic of "weightism" is not exactly new, there has been renewed pressure in the last few years for retailers to extend the majority of collections to include plus-sizes. A Perfect 14 will feature interviews with industry insiders such as designers, editors and photographers, in addition to models themselves and an array of body image experts.
