Heams & Michel Architectes Presents the 7 Kiosks Project

French design studio Heams & Michel Architectes updates a public square located in Cannes dubbed the 7 Kiosks project. This is comprised of seven prefabricated aluminum kiosks that can be adapted to various functions. This project is part of a wider effort to elevate and renovate the Allées de la Liberté -- this is a street that is nestled between the port and the old town which hosts various markets. The studio forms the seven independent kiosks that have the same boxy structure wrapped in powder-coated aluminum panels.

Co-founder of the studio Benjamin Michel speaks to Dezeen, stating "The aim was to create small-scale buildings whose design is between art and architecture. We wanted objects with a simple, clean shape that take place silently in the complex urban space. The elevations are made up of a double skin formed by lattices that rest on a horizontal line grid. The triangle-based design plays with the Mediterranean light that casts contrasting shadows and brings depth to the facade."
