3D-Printed Home Communities

New Story and ICON Have Announced a 3D-Printed Housing Community

A new 3D-printed housing community has been announced by the nonprofit group New Story in collaboration with ICON and Mexican social housing enterprise ÉCHALE. The community will see 50 homes printed using the ICON Vulvan II 3D printer, which is capable of creating 500 square foot buildings in just 24 hours over the course of several days. The project will see the homes provided to families who are presently living on a daily income of less than $3 to help those who need the support most.

The 3D-printed housing community from New Story, ICON and ÉCHALE identifies how technology innovations can be used in order to support those who need it most and accelerate the rate at which they can be helped.
