For this year's annual Footwear Design Competition in Hong Kong, China, the Hong Kong Federation of Footwear Ltd. (FFHK) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) gave local designers the chance to design 3D-printed footwear using Stratasys’s full-color, multi-material J750 3D printer.
Some of the designs that were imagined and created with additive manufacturing techniques include 'God of Thunderbolt,' as well as others that boast details like bird faces, wings and floral details that form the basis of the shoe's shape.
Throughout the month, the dynamic 3D-printed footwear designs will be displayed at the Hong Kong APM and Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. As well as serving as artful representations of the possibilities that can be created with 3D printing, these shoes will inspire the Hong Kong footwear market of the future.
