Hisaaki Hirawata and Tomohiro Watab of the Japanese design group Moment Design have created a unique clothing store for label 24 Issey Miyake. Located in Sapporo, Japan. Modularity and functionality were the main factors in the creation of this design and it certainly shows.
The flexible store is comprised of 100 rectangular panels that can be propped open to display accessories. Poles can also be attached to the panels to create makeshift clothing racks. The purpose of the flexible and easy-to-manage design is the constant changing nature of the fashion industry. Throughout seasons, rather than completely revamping a display, employees can simply fold away panels, add or take down racks of clothing or move locations without any of the hassle of traditional seasonal changes.
The result is a store that looks modern and fresh, which perfectly complements the iconic yet modern look of 24 Issey Miyake.Photo Credits: designboom I moment-design
