AIM Architecture is Inspired by the 1970s Office Aesthetic

The 1970s office aesthetic is back and not just in the form of a fictional TV sitcom that you can't help but just love. Shanghai studio AIM Architecture is pushing the envelope with a cosmetic store in Hangzhou, China that takes cues from the retro office environment.

The color palette, that the architectural practice relied on when designing the look for cosmetics brand Harmay, includes bold yellows, bright greens, muted oranges, and browns. The retail interior features bookshelves and yellow desks that are used as displays for Harmay's cosmetic products. Extra stock is playfully tucked away in the desk drawers.

By employing the 1970s office aesthetic for a beauty retail space, AIM Architecture will certainly surprise patrons and will be successful in "transporting customers away from reality."
