G-SHOCK's new surfing watch is a continuation of its G-LIDE line, which is intended for extreme sports. The new model is titled the GLX-5600KI. The watch is designed to be shock-resistant, and also presents a graph for surfers to read the tide. G-SHOCK showcased the model with Kanno Igarashi, the professional surfer.
The watch has a partially translucent body, which is intended to look like the ocean. The face presents information digitally and shows the date and time. The watch also features a mirrored face. The professional surfer's signature appears on the face of the watch, as well as the strap and on the watch case. The signature will light up when the timepiece's backlight is turned on. G-SHOCK has not yet stated a release date for its surfing watch.
