From Pride-Themed Financial Ads to Homeless Awareness Fashion
Amy Duong — July 28, 2019 — Social Good
The wide range of July 2019 social good trends supports a variety of different initiative. Last month was Pride Month and many brands across multiple different industries joined the cause altogether. One of the companies that did this was American Express with the launch of its 'Proudly Backing' campaign initiative.
It celebrated inclusivity with special performances by artist Lizzo. In addition to her musical talents, she is also an advocate for body positivity and a supporter of the LGTBQ+ community. Ticket profits to the performance went directly towards the Stonewall Community Foundation, which empowers the LGBTQ+ community. Another great social good example this month was done by fashion brand Esprit+. It brought light to the issue surrounding LGBTQ+ homeless youth with the launch of the Craig & Karl collection. The unisex fashion designs are colorful to represent the rainbow flag and the brand works with Ali Forney Center to give meals for the cause as well.
