Perfumes and colognes have been endorsed by celebrities going back to the 50's with Joan Crawford and Estee Lauder's Youth Dew. Today's ad campaigns are energetically charged and ultra-glamorous. The most hip celebrities of the moment are commissioned to put their names to perfumes and follow up with some of the most alluring print and video advertisements in existence.
Some of these campaigns, although wildly stylish, go too far and are eventually banned. Even though these print ads may never grace a mainstream magazine, the marketing geniuses made their mark--and, after all, there's always the Web!
