Yvette Cox is the artist behind the beautiful Florence Coffee Table above. The table was created with strips of steam-bent wood that almost create a draped ribbon effect. Yvette specializes in the process of steam bending and is particularly drawn to it because of the unpredictable products and outcomes that come from her projects.
The process of wood working takes quite a bit of experimenting, and this allows the artist to let her creativity flow through while creating her art. Most of Yvette Cox's projects are created from local sources, and her work is in part inspired by the green movement. The artist claims a four-word mantra that inspires all of her artwork -- they are, in order, "Natural, Interlocking, Repetition and Organic."
