YouTube is Implementing a Series of New Educational Features
YouTube is launching new features for creators and educational institutions, allowing these organizations to use the platform to produce educational content. YouTube will debut a new embeddable video player for educational applications so that ads do not interfere with learning. This functionality will allow students to concentrate on educational content from resources like EDpuzzle, Google Classroom, Purdue University, and Purdue Global, all of which work effectively to provide foundations for future success.
YouTube also announced a new function for creators that allows them to create free or paid “courses” using playlists that are designed for future audiences. This feature will first complete a beta test in South Korea before arriving in the US.
To round off the company’s series of announcements, YouTube’s quiz feature allows creators to set up quizzes based off of their educational content. This feature will be put through beta testing in the near future, so creators can expect it to launch sometime in 2023.
