Gerhardt Kellerman and Ana Relvao designed the Yay chair, which is a part of the Gumpo furniture capsule and it is defined by its unique backrest. This section has an unconventional shape and is actually much more comfortable than it appears.
The compact chair has an upholstered support to make a statement with the seat, the backseat, and the leg section -- all of these are covered in fabric to create a soft and textile unit. This gives it a continuous shape and the backrest is notably, intelligently padded. Despite the shape, which looks to be uncomfortable, carefully molded to the back of the seater due to the texture. It also has a minimal look to fit into any space.
