Abu Dhabi will, yawn, see the opening of another luxury hotel this fall. The Yas Hotel is part of the $36 billion marina development project. The 500-room hotel covers 85,000 square meters, and Asymptote Architecture says it will “redefine luxury and modern architecture.”
The Yas Hotel's curved forms are made of finished steel with 5,800 diamond-shaped panels that swivel. The architects say they were inspired by the veils that are worn throughout the region.
