The XR Lab is designed by the team at WindsorPatania Architects, which fuses elements of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality together, known as Mixed Reality. The new space is at West Suffolk College in the UK and is defined as a high-tech space that features various rooms including the conference space, collaboration theater, and green room.
Notably, the green room is a fully immersive room with green floors, ceilings, and walls to better isolate real-world objects. The co-director of WindsonPatania, Giovanni Patania shares more about the space, noting. “The XR Lab is truly an inspired learning space, where ambitious architecture embodies the function of the building. We are very proud to have been part of this exciting and game-changing educational initiative.”
